What does multi-norm flame-retardant workwear mean?
It is a garment certified for several hazards at once, for example heat and flame (EN ISO 11612), electrostatic charges (EN 1149-5) and electric arc (EN 61482). The standards for each garment are shown on the product page.
What is the difference between EN ISO 11612 and EN ISO 14116?
EN ISO 11612 certifies protection from heat and flame with codes for different types of exposure. EN ISO 14116 only covers limited flame spread: garments with index 1 must be worn over flame-retardant garments.
What do arc Classes APC 1 and APC 2 mean?
They are the two classes of protection against the thermal effects of an electric arc under EN 61482: APC 2 is tested with a higher-intensity arc than APC 1. The required class should be defined in the electrical risk assessment.
Is an EN 1149-5 anti-static garment enough on its own in an ATEX zone?
No: protection only works if the wearer is earthed, for example with dissipative footwear, and if the garment stays fastened and covers non-compliant clothing. It must not be opened or removed in flammable atmospheres.
How should flame-retardant garments be washed?
Follow the label instructions on temperature and permitted products: incorrect washing can reduce performance. A garment soiled with oil or grease should be cleaned immediately, as these substances are flammable.
Can I order flame-retardant workwear for the whole team?
Yes: for large quantities you can request a quote on the website. Each product page shows stock by size and colour, and items in stock in Milan ship within 24/48 working hours.
