Flame-retardant hi-vis vests

A flame-retardant hi-vis vest makes workers visible without adding a flammable garment over flame-retardant clothing. It is common in plants, yards and loading areas where vehicles operate and there may be a flame hazard.

Vest standards

• EN ISO 14116: all vests use limited flame spread materials. With index 1 the garment must be worn over flame-retardant clothing with index 2 or 3: check the index on the product page.
• EN ISO 20471: Class 1, 2 or 3 depending on the area of fluorescent fabric and retroreflective tape; long sleeve vests reach Class 3.
• EN 1149-5: almost all models are anti-static, useful where potentially explosive atmospheres are present.

How to choose

The sleeveless vest is lightweight and worn over flame-retardant coveralls or jackets; the long sleeve version increases visibility; the padded and softshell versions add protection from cold. If you also need full heat and flame protection, see our hi-vis flame-retardant jackets.
