Multi-norm flame-retardant jackets for industry and welding
A flame-retardant jacket, paired with trousers, is the alternative to a coverall for those who prefer a two-piece outfit. The range covers everyday use in plants, welding, electrical maintenance and work with molten metal.
Which jacket for which hazard
- Heat and flame: EN ISO 11612 uses codes A to F to indicate the type of exposure; molten metal jackets are designed for metal splashes, to be checked against codes D and E on the product page.
- Welding: EN ISO 11611 Class 1 for work with little spatter, Class 2 for more demanding work.
- Electric arc: EN 61482 in Class APC 1 or APC 2; some models also show the cal/cm² value in their name.
- Electrostatic charges with EN 1149-5 and light chemical splashes with EN 13034 Type 6.
- Visibility: EN ISO 20471 Class 3 for high visibility, EN 17353 for enhanced visibility.
- Weather: padded jackets certified to EN 342 against cold and EN 343 models against rain.
Buying advice
Always pair the jacket with flame-retardant trousers carrying the same certifications, so the outfit protects consistently. For shifts in the rain see our flame-retardant waterproof jackets. Women's models and flame-retardant fleece jackets for use as a mid layer are also available.
Domande frequenti
Do flame-retardant jacket and trousers protect as well as a coverall?
Yes, if both garments have the same certifications and the jacket covers the waist well even when bending. A coverall remains preferable where uninterrupted protection is needed, for example in heavy-duty welding.
What does the cal/cm² value on an arc-rated jacket mean?
It is the electric arc thermal energy the fabric can attenuate according to EN 61482 tests: a higher value means greater protection. The required value comes from the electrical risk assessment.
Are flame-retardant winter jackets certified against cold?
Some padded jackets are certified to EN 342 against cold; for the others the product page shows the standards actually met.
Can I get a quote for flame-retardant jackets in large quantities?
