EN 360 self-retracting devices

They work like a car seat belt: the cable or webbing pays out and rewinds as the operator moves and locks in the event of a fall. Lengths range from 2 to 10 m; the 2 and 2.5 m versions are portable and suit users who move around a lot, while the 6 and 10 m versions cover larger areas. Some models incorporate an EN 355 energy absorber and EN 362 connectors, and 140 kg versions are available. Horizontal or edge use is permitted only if allowed in the user information.

EN 353-2 guided rope-type fall arresters

The device travels along a rope anchored above and follows the operator up and down, locking in the event of a fall. It is suited to sloping roofs, ladders and vertical structures; versions with 10 and 20 m ropes are available.

Training and inspections

Fall protection PPE is Category III: Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 requires specific training and practical instruction for operators using it. Before each use check locking and rewinding; after a fall the device must be withdrawn and inspected by the manufacturer. Connect it to fall arrest harnesses and suitable anchors.
