Winter work gloves and cold protection
With cold hands, grip worsens, sensitivity drops and the risk of injury rises. Thermal gloves combine an insulating lining with EN 388 mechanical protection, for winter sites, outdoor logistics, cold stores and outdoor maintenance.
How to read EN 511
EN 511 gives three values: resistance to convective cold, meaning cold air (0-4), to contact cold from freezing surfaces (0-4) and water penetration (0 or 1). If you work in contact with cold metal, look at the second value; if you work in the rain, the third. Not all models in the category carry EN 511: check the product page.
Types available
- Lined coated gloves in latex or nitrile, with thick lining and secure grip.
- Waterproof in PU or leather, mechanic style, for rain and snow.
- Leather driver gloves, for people driving and loading vehicles.
- Knitted, fleece and liners, including touchscreen or fingerless, to wear on their own or under another glove.
Getting ready for the season
Order ahead of the first cold spell and check stock by size on the product page. If you need grip and dexterity without insulation, see grip gloves; for heavy handling, leather and rigger gloves. The full range is in work gloves.
Domande frequenti
How are the three EN 511 numbers read?
The first indicates protection against convective cold, the second against contact cold, and the third water penetration (1 passed, 0 not passed).
What is a thermal liner glove for?
It adds an insulating layer under the work glove and can be washed more often; it is useful when alternating between cold and indoor tasks.
Are knitted or fleece gloves certified against cold?
Not all: some knitted models are designed for comfort or as liners. Check on the product page whether they carry EN 511 before using them as cold-protection PPE.
How long does an order of thermal gloves take to arrive?
Items in stock in our Milan warehouse ship within 24/48 working hours; for items being restocked, the product page shows the next arrival date.
