Thermal work underwear
Thermal underwear is the first layer of your cold-weather system: it retains body heat and wicks sweat away from the skin, so you stay dry even while working. It is essential for outdoor winter work, unheated warehouses and cold stores, under garments certified for cold.
Merino wool or technical fabric
Merino wool stays warm even when damp and limits odours, suited to long shifts. Synthetic technical fabrics dry faster and are recommended for intense physical activity; some versions are antibacterial. Our range includes long and short sleeve tops, crew neck or zip neck, hooded tops, leggings, long johns and top-and-leggings sets, including women's.
EN 14058: Classes 1 and 2
Some garments are certified to EN 14058, the standard for cool environments. The class indicates the level of thermal insulation: Class 2 insulates more than Class 1. For temperatures below -5 °C, thermal underwear should be paired with outer garments certified for severe cold.
How to complete the kit
Over the underwear add a mid layer, such as a work fleece, and on the outside a winter jacket. For head and neck there are beanies and balaclavas.

Merino wool or synthetic thermal underwear?
Merino wool is warm even when damp and retains fewer odours; synthetic dries faster and is recommended for very strenuous work.
What do EN 14058 Class 1 and Class 2 mean on underwear?
The measured level of thermal insulation: Class 2 insulates more than Class 1. Both are designed for cool environments, not extreme cold.
Should thermal underwear be close-fitting?
Yes, to work it must sit against the skin without constricting: that way it retains heat and moves sweat outwards. Choose your size using the chart on the product page.
Can top-and-leggings sets be ordered for the whole team?
Yes, check stock by size on the product page; for large quantities you can request a quote on the website.
