Flame-retardant accessories for welding, head and neck
Flame-retardant accessories protect the areas the main garment leaves uncovered or more exposed: head and neck under the helmet or mask, forearms and legs during welding, and the front of the body at the workbench.
Welding accessories
Split leather spats, aprons, sleeves and hoods resist spatter and hot slag; fabric sleeves and the cape hood are lighter for long shifts. EN ISO 11611 distinguishes Class 1, for work with little spatter and low radiant heat, from Class 2, for more demanding work: check the class of each item on the product page and choose the one suited to the process.
Balaclavas, beanies and neck warmers
Flame-retardant balaclavas, beanies and neck warmers are certified to EN ISO 11612 for heat and flame and, in many cases, anti-static to EN 1149-5: they are worn under the helmet in plants with a flame hazard or in the cold season. One balaclava model also offers electric arc protection. One item is certified to EN ISO 14116, the limited flame spread standard: check the index shown on the product page.
Recommended combinations
These accessories complement, not replace, the main garment: pair them with flame-retardant coveralls or flame-retardant welding jackets with consistent certifications. You will find the full range in the multi-norm flame-retardant workwearcategory.
Domande frequenti
Are split leather or flame-retardant fabric spats and sleeves better?
Split leather withstands heavy spatter and slag better, while fabric is lighter and more breathable. Choose based on the welding process and the EN ISO 11611 class shown on the product page.
Can the flame-retardant balaclava be worn under a helmet?
Yes, it is designed to be worn under a helmet or hood without leaving the neck and head uncovered. Still check that the helmet fit remains correct.
Does a welder's apron replace a flame-retardant jacket?
No: the apron protects the front at the workbench, but arms and back are covered only by the garment worn underneath, which must itself be suitable for welding.
How do I check stock of an accessory before ordering?
Each product page shows stock by size and colour in our Milan and European warehouses, with the next arrival date if the item is being restocked.
