Safety clogs and sandals
In hot departments and in the summer months, a closed shoe can be hard to keep on for a whole shift. Safety sandals and clogs keep the EN ISO 20345 safety toe cap and offer more ventilation, as long as the environment has no water, splashes or uneven ground.
Classes available
- SB: basic requirements with toe cap; on clogs it is often accompanied by the codes A (antistatic) and E (heel energy absorption).
- S1: closed heel, antistatic and energy absorption.
- S1P: as S1, with the addition of an anti-penetration midsole.
ESD sandals and clogs
More than half of the models are certified to EN 61340-5-1 for use in electrostatic protected areas, such as electronics assembly lines and laboratories. Steel or composite toe caps are available, with lace, hook-and-loop or slip-on fastening, and perforated clogs for maximum breathability.
Where to use them and where not
They are suited to light logistics, assembly, laboratories and dry indoor departments. Where there are liquids, nails or a risk of twisted ankles, closed shoes are needed: see safety shoes. To improve comfort there are gel and cushioned insoles; the full range is in work footwear.
Domande frequenti
Is an SB safety clog compliant?
Yes, EN ISO 20345 class SB includes the 200 joule toe cap and the basic requirements. It should only be chosen if the risk assessment does not require a closed heel or other protection.
What is the difference between S1 and S1P safety sandals?
Both have a toe cap, closed heel and antistatic properties; the S1P model adds an anti-penetration midsole in the sole.
Can ESD sandals be used in an EPA?
Yes, models certified to EN 61340-5-1 are designed for discharge-protected areas, when combined with suitable flooring and earthing systems.
When will an out-of-stock sandal size arrive?
The product page shows stock for each size and, if it is being restocked, the next arrival date.
