PVC and PU safety wellingtons
Where water, mud, blood, grease or detergents are present all day, leather footwear is not enough. Polymer wellingtons are waterproof by design, easy to wash and suited to the food industry, agriculture, livestock farming, washdown and wastewater treatment plants.
Classes S4, S5 and O4
- S4: PVC or PU safety wellington with toe cap, antistatic and with heel energy absorption.
- S5: as S4, with anti-penetration midsole and cleated outsole; S5S with non-metallic PS-type midsole.
- O4: EN ISO 20347 work wellington without toe cap, for people with no crushing risk.
PVC or PU
PVC is tough and easy to clean, suited to frequent washdown. PU is lighter, insulates better against cold and stays flexible at low temperatures. There is also an EVA thermal wellington rated down to -30 °C, with the CI code for cold insulation.
Chemical, food and waders
Some models are certified to EN 13832-3, the standard for footwear highly resistant to chemicals. There are wellingtons for the food sector and S5 waist and chest waders for work in water. For winter, pair them with thermal socks; for dry ground see safety boots. The full range is in work footwear.

What is the difference between S4 and S5 safety wellingtons?
Both are polymer wellingtons with a toe cap; class S5 adds an anti-penetration midsole and cleated outsole, useful on ground with nails, glass or stones.
What does EN 13832-3 certify on wellingtons?
It certifies that the footwear is highly resistant to chemicals, based on degradation and permeation tests with specific substances listed in the information leaflet.
Are PVC or PU wellingtons better?
PU is lighter and insulates better against cold, PVC is tough and easy to wash. For cold stores and winter, PU or a thermal model is the better choice.
How quickly will the wellingtons arrive?
Items in stock in our Milan warehouse ship within 24/48 working hours; for others, the product page shows stock in the European warehouse or the next arrival date.
