Waterproof and winter work trousers

Legs get the wettest when working in the rain, especially for those walking through grass and mud or kneeling. The waterproof trousers in this category protect from water, the winter ones from cold, and the softshells from cool, windy days.

Waterproof: classes and models

Waterproof trousers are certified to EN 343 Class 3 or 4, where 4 indicates maximum water resistance. Classic models, such as the Sealtex ranges, are tough and usually worn over work trousers; breathable ones limit condensation for people who move a lot. The Flexatex Chem version is certified to EN 13034 Type 6 for light splashes of liquid chemicals.

Cold and knee pads

Waterproof winter trousers and cold store trousers are certified to EN 342, for temperatures below -5 °C. Some models have knee pad pockets certified to EN 14404 Type 2, for use with the knee pad specified on the product page: useful for kneeling work outdoors.
