Flame-retardant work trousers
All trousers in this category are certified to EN ISO 11612 for heat and flame. They differ in additional standards, fabric (from classic cotton blends to lightweight or stretch models) and pockets: cargo, holster for carrying tools, or standard.
Additional certifications
- EN 61482: electric arc protection, almost always in Class APC 1; some models show the cal/cm² value in their name.
- EN 1149-5: anti-static, for areas with potentially explosive atmospheres.
- EN ISO 11611: for welding, in Class 1 or Class 2 depending on the spatter and heat of the process.
- EN 13034 Type 6: resistance to light chemical splashes.
- EN ISO 20471 Class 1 or 2 and EN 17353 for visibility.
Buying advice
Choose trousers with the same standards as the flame-retardant jacket or, if you prefer a single garment, consider the flame-retardant bib and brace. For a team it pays to standardise model and colour: each product page shows stock by size and colour, and for large quantities you can request a quote.
Domande frequenti
Holster or cargo flame-retardant trousers: which should I choose?
Holster trousers have hanging external pockets for kneeling work or keeping tools to hand; cargo trousers have side thigh pockets. Protection depends on the standards, not the pocket type.
Are flame-retardant trousers suitable for welding?
Only if certified to EN ISO 11611: Class 1 for work with little spatter, Class 2 for more demanding work. The product page shows the class of each model.
Can flame-retardant trousers be shortened?
Any alteration, including seams and hems with non-flame-retardant thread, can compromise certified protection. Better to choose the correct size and length from those available on the product page.
Can I buy flame-retardant trousers as a private individual?
No, sales are reserved for businesses and professionals with a VAT number and prices are shown excl. VAT.
