Hi-vis shorts for the warmer months

In high temperatures, full-length trousers become tiring. Hi-vis shorts keep a degree of certified visibility where company policy and the risk assessment allow bare legs.

Why they are Class 1

Being short, they offer less fluorescent and retroreflective area: that is why they are certified to Class 1 under EN ISO 20471, the minimum level. The 3/4 version reaches Class 2 in some sizes. For greater overall visibility, pair them with hi-vis t-shirts or hi-vis polo shirts; the class of the combination should be checked on the product page.

Holster pockets and knee pads

Several models have holster pockets, external pockets hanging at the waist, sometimes detachable, for keeping screws and small tools close to hand. The 3/4 trousers have knee pad pockets compatible with Type 2 knee pads to EN 14404: protection is only certified when the knee pads specified by the manufacturer are inserted.

When to use them

They are suited to grounds maintenance, outdoor logistics and work in low-traffic areas. Where higher classes or leg protection are required, hi-vis work trousersremain the right choice.
